Aleph Zero is proud to present... A New Omnimotion Album!!!

After four years of recording, producing and composing new music in his Ambium Studio based in Stockholm, Sweden, Omnimotion is finally back with a second album. Utilizing inspirations and knowledge he picked up along his very diverse musical path, Stefan has created Dream Wide Awake. The album contains the best musical gems that were carefully chosen from the music that accumulated in this four year period. It is a beautifully mellow yet optimistic album, with a strong acoustic presence. Dream Wide Awake is an incredibly diverse album. It features eight different vocalists- from a rapper to an opera singer- and many guest musicians with an array of instruments including the violin, accordion, guitar, drums, harp & flute. The outcome hovers between the electronic and the acoustic, the hypnotic and the melodic, between abstract ambient and mellow songs, between dubby songs and IDM glitches. Omnimotion weaves and paints here an emotional musical journey that must not be missed and will leave you dreaming wide awake.
Reaching Out
I want to let my people know that I also am a person. I am not a corporation or a big record label. I have been doing this music and the business associated with it thorough hardcore work to self support it. I presently am the only investor, booking agent, publicist, manager and tour manager for this musical group. This being in addition to my artistic and other band-leading responsibilities is leaving me spread thinner than I would like. I want to offer up this an so much more music, thoughts, vibes and performances to the world. I'm putting it out there to my community. To the people who have asked me to let them know what is up. I have a great musical group and album and I am very open to peoples assistance. If you feel inspired by this music and want to offer up any form of positive energy. I welcome you. This could be in the form of connections with other quality people or business, assistance with promotion, booking, distribution or investment. Anything that you feel empowered to offer I want to know about. I am ready for a true and powerful business team. This work is about reaching people, strengthening minds and hearts, helping to inspire change and growth and keeping us funky! What do you know about that? May all your endeavors be abundant. Blane
Vaporvent (USA)

I stuck this on last Friday evening, and just got totally sucked into it. Ended up playing it about three or four times. It’s been a long time since anything on the chillout tip was quite this magnetic: it’s an artist album, so you’re bound to get more flow coming through than with a compilation (no matter how well it’s put together). Also, this being from the USA, there’s a certain confident individuality to the music. The scene there must be very weird, in being so fragmented; and geographically far away from the rest of the global scene, not many international acts travel there that often. What this means, is that for the sake of this album, it’s like Shpongle never happened. Rather than taking its inspiration from a series of preceeding psy-chill, this seems to come in from the side – more of a step in “proper” US psychedelia. Hence, a lot of synth lines are put together like Jerry Garcia guitar lines; the grooves are fluid, and rarely come back in on themselves; and suggestions of drippy hippy sunshine vibes are balanced nicely with sudden shifts into a more menacing gear. The whole CD is remarkably cohesive, and takes in diversity: bright, bubbling live guitar (Low Room), sweet slomo 4-4 (Fresh Squeeze, Steam), hypnotising digidub (Dubbly Bubbly), sinister bass mixing perfectly with psychedelic positivity (Something Else), deep, groovy demi-dub that flinches from one groove to another like it has a stoned form of ADHD (Green Shake).. all topped off with the hilarious (I think) Launch, which has that Infected Mushroom vocoder thing going back and forth with big housey vocal vamps…. yeah, it’s okay, it’s a pisstake!! All in all, I love this. It flows great, it doesn’t fall into clichéd loops of psy-chill safe plays (no McKenna, no peasants wailing, no ickle finger-cymbals that monks have). One of the more adventurous, stylish and bravely individual artist albums in a long while.
Review:

I really like the new Waterjuice CD, “Melbaphonics ”. It should show the rest of the world why they are one of the very top psychedelic downtempo acts in North America. This San Francisco-based duo stands out because they’ve pioneered a unique sound that is both epic, yet easily accessible to a wide cross-section of the underground: chillers, trancers, jam-band fans, and dancers.

Another thing going for Waterjuice, is their “live ”shows actually seem very live - much more like a concert than a laptop recital. It’s easy to watch how they tweak their instruments, manipulate sound, and get involved in each step of the creative process. Waterjuice consists of Sur Real and Raven - Raven is an electric guitarist with a boggling array of effects and pedals that can make both classic “guitar sounds ”, as well as cosmic trance tones. Sur Real works pads and synths, and I’ve seen him tap out new fat beats right in front of the audience. He also shakes a one-of-a-kind “MIDI Space suit ” that triggers sound via body motion. They play together well and can really whip-up the audience by jamming long and hard - like a futuristic, digital, psychedelic rock band .

This newest studio CD, “Melbaphonics”, smoothly cruises through a wide spectrum of chill, breakbeats, lots of deep dub, psy-trance and trip hop. And it nails each of them spot-on. The disc plays very solidly – which is important to me, for picking or recommending a downtempo CD. My attention span for music can be short, but I’ve never really felt like skipping through any of the tracks on “Melbaphonics”. They’re all good.

Track 3, “Something Else ”, is really something else! This darkish psychedelic dub session has bass notes deeper than a fault-line ocean trench – and it sucks me into the subduction zone every time. The disc really starts to sparkle around Track 4, “Fresh Squeezed ”, a heady blast of invigorating, slow, skunky-funky psychedelic trance. Track 7, “Steam ”, rolls out the trance-groove even harder –steaming, sizzling and smoking too. Number 9, “Surf or Sync ”, is a spectacular rock-infused jam with Water-juicy guitar hooks and freshly bubbling synthesizers. The disc finishes with a funkadelic trip-hop groove called “Launch”, something I’d imagine hearing at a whacked-out Wednseday night warm-up party at Burning Man…

This disc goes great with a chilled-out smoke , or as a soundtrack for a sunny drive. Playing it out has shown that the faster tracks really WORK, and just ooze with accessibility and dance-floor magic.

To push the envelope of downtempo sound design, and travel the world on the strength of your music is an extremely competitive mission. But I’ll bet that Waterjuice has the fierce creativity, stage presence, classical musicianship and studio skills to stay ahead. I can wholeheartedly recommend their newest CD “Melbaphonics”. And I wouldn’t miss out on seeing or booking their live show. You will not be disappointed.

since i think that he has grown out of the groovier stages of life and now is more in the 'sueing years'...i am changing my dj name from sir eel to sur real.....got that? its very serious to ed, so let it be known i am now Sur Real and not sir eel....

and how did this all start? we'll see cyril is a name that can only be pronounced as cereal here in the US of A (yeah, its funny, i know) so since corn flakes are cool and all, i needed something easy for people to get with a little snazz, hence sir eel (surreal was already taken too!)....but then again, maybe i'll change it to slurr kneel, we'll just have to see if any other sur reals out there try to sue me too....its all quite unbelievible and surreal....for real!
